East Thorne is in Kilkhampton, near Bude on the North Cornwall coast. We’re tucked away in the Cornish countryside, just a short drive from Bude and some of our favourite beaches. Sandymouth is around a 4-minute drive away, while Summerleaze and Crooklets in Bude are around 5 miles from us. Our glamping accommodation near Bude is a little different. We have 10 luxury Roundhouses designed for year-round stays. They combine the outdoorsy feel we loved about our original glamping days with proper home comforts including en-suite bathrooms, fitted kitchens, underfloor heating, wood burners, full electrics and hot tubs. We also have cosy Cornwall cottages if glamping isn't quite your thing. Yes, hot tubs come with all of our Roundhouses. Our family Roundhouses have screened electric hot-tub areas, while our two private couples Roundhouses offer either an electric hot tub. Perfect for jumping into after a day at the beach or warming up under the Cornish night sky. Very! Sandymouth is our closest beach at around a 4-minute drive and is one of our absolute favourites — dramatic cliffs, waterfalls, coast path and miles of sand when the tide is out. Summerleaze and Crooklets in Bude are around 5 miles away, and Widemouth Bay is another great option further along the coast. Absolutely. We have two private couples Roundhouses tucked away from the main site. The Secret Roundhouse has its own private garden, electric hot tub, fire bowl and covered outdoor kitchen, while Cynefin has a private garden, electric hot tub, roll-top bath, double shower and beautiful valley views. If they're booked, some of our stand-alone Roundhouses also make lovely couples escapes. Very. Our family Roundhouses sleep different combinations of families and groups, with kitchens, bathrooms, hot tubs and plenty of outdoor space. Around the site you'll also find a climbing frame, communal campfire, outdoor pizza oven, animal feeding and The Tallet — our covered, heated gathering space. It's all about giving the kids space to explore while the grown-ups get a chance to relax too. Yes, we have a selection of dog-friendly Roundhouses and cottages, subject to availability and prior arrangement. We generally accept one dog or two small dogs per dog-friendly accommodation. Dogs need to stay on a lead around the site because we have other guests as well as free-range chickens and ducks. And with countryside walks and the North Cornwall coast nearby, there are plenty of adventures to have together. Yes. Our Roundhouses are designed for year-round glamping in Cornwall, with underfloor heating, wood-burning stoves, full electrics and proper en-suite bathrooms — so you're not relying on Cornish sunshine to have a great stay. Hot tubs and cosy fires can make the cooler months some of our favourite times here. You can make your stay as slow or as adventurous as you like. Bude and the North Cornwall coast are close by for beaches, surfing, sea swimming, rock pooling and coastal walks, with Sandymouth, Summerleaze, Crooklets and Widemouth Bay all within easy reach. Or stay closer to home for hot tubs, campfires, outdoor cooking and a proper switch-off. Because East Thorne gives you the best bits of getting outdoors without giving up the comforts that make a break feel like a break. Think unique Roundhouses, private hot tubs, proper kitchens and bathrooms, campfires and countryside, with Bude and the North Cornwall coast just down the road. Come as a couple, family, group or with your four-legged VIP and make the stay as relaxed or adventure-filled as you like. Yes. EXCELLENT Based on 846 reviews Posted on Tripadvisor Kyle RVerified Cynefin Roundhouse ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Absolute perfection! Staff are very welcoming and friendly. We stayed in the couples cynefin roundhouse and had the most incredible, relaxing time. The roundhouse is tucked away in its own hidden corner it was beautifully designed, immaculate, and incredibly cozy, offering the perfect blend of luxury and nature. Sitting under the stars in the private hot tub was the ultimate highlight. The peaceful atmosphere and thoughtful details made our trip perfect. We will definitely be backPosted on Tripadvisor simon gVerified Third time around This was our third visit to East Thorne and also our third time in "The Nook". As usual we had a fantastic stay, Sue was super welcoming as usual. The welcome pack was a lovely touch. We had a look at the Yurts as a possibility for a next visit. We have dogs and they are more than accommodating. If anyone asked me if I would recommend East Thorne, my answer would be 100% yes. If walking holidays are your thing East Thorne would make an ideal base.Posted on Tripadvisor Donna GVerified Lovely peaceful stay Lovely peaceful area, great stay, friendly people who run it. Hot tub amazing.Posted on Tripadvisor Sue SVerified Wonderful Place We stayed at East Thorne Glamping in Bude, Cornwall, for two nights from 26th July, and had an absolutely wonderful experience. Paul and Sue, who looked after the glamping site, were incredibly welcoming, friendly, and helpful throughout our stay. They really made us feel at home. The whole place is beautiful, and the Roundhouse we stayed in was beyond fantastic—comfortable, unique, and very well maintained. We especially loved the jacuzzi, which was spotless and clearly very well cared for. The grounds are stunning and so well looked after, making the whole experience feel peaceful and relaxing. The animals were also a lovely part of our stay, and it was clear how much care and attention Paul gives them. We had such a lovely time and would highly recommend East Thorne Glamping to anyone looking for a special getaway in Cornwall. We would definitely love to return. Mr & Mrs Stone & LewisPosted on Tripadvisor Nikki KVerified Peaceful, calming, restful stay much needed Beautiful place, peaceful the shower was amazing, the hot tub and shady area lovely and cool in the hot weather we hadPosted on Tripadvisor JustBristolVerified Fabulous birthday weekend with friends We rented all four family roundhouses at East Thorne for a long weekend to celebrate a friend's birthday. Each couple stayed in one roundhouse, which gave everyone their own comfortable space while still allowing us to spend plenty of time together as a group. We used the bunk room to store our clothes and to change in. Each roundhouse has a bathroom with a loo, sink and shower, a hot tub, garden table and umbrella, and a BBQ. This was my third visit, but it was the first time for the rest of the group, and everyone was impressed by the space, cleanliness and comfort of the accommodation. The beds were exceptionally comfortable, making for a great night's sleep. We made full use of the hot tubs, even popping between each other's roundhouses for a soak and a chat. Naomi was a wonderful host and kindly allowed us to use the loft for a curry night on our first evening and the covered barn for a barbecue on the second. We cooked everything ourselves and carried it over to the barn, which worked perfectly. We also spent time gathered around the fire pit, chatting well into the evening. Mornings were slow, drinking coffee outside, watching the goats on the trampoline! The nearby beaches were lovely, and we rounded off the weekend with an excellent Sunday roast at The Bush Inn. A fantastic stay all round, and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to others.Posted on Tripadvisor sam-aron jVerified 💯 amazing Absolutely an amazing place to stay, would recommend to anybody to stay there. Facilities are above and beyond.Posted on Tripadvisor Markus KVerified Sehr nett und gemütlich! Wir fühlten uns sehr wohl und alles war perfekt! Im Badezimmer ist noch Luft nach Oben!

Just felt the accommodation would be more private from other questsPosted on Google caroline curtisTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Just returned from a lovely weekend and the complex more than exceeded our expectations. The animals; hot tub and morning pastries were the highlights. We loved the chickens at the door and it felt really homely there. Paul and Sue were lovely and easy to talk to - really helpful. Very clean, I’ve stayed in a few places and it is lovely when you find a place with the same cleanliness standards as yourself. I’d love to come down when the pizza oven is going and it’s a bit warmer too. Hopefully we will be back soon, thank you so much xPosted on Google Claire KenyonTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We’ve just returned from a 3 night stay in the pet friendly ‘Boat’ roundhouse. The accommodation was immaculately presented, clean, tastefully decorated and cosy. The kitchen was well equipped with everything you need for a short break, and even stocked with tea, coffee and sugar. The weather was too cold for a bbq this time but the option was there to have some al fresco dining in our own little garden area if we wanted to. We made good use of the hot tub which was lovely and warm and super clean. The location is ideal for countryside walks and just a 12 minute drive from Bude centre and a mile from the local village shops and pubs. There is a particularly picturesque walk around Tamar lake which is a 5 minute drive away. Naomi was extremely welcoming and even took time to show us around the other accommodation options for our next stay. Nothing seemed too much trouble and we knew they were on hand if we needed anything. From the lovely grounds and thoughtful touches, you can tell there has been a lot of love and hard work poured into this business. We loved our stay and look forward to retuning.Posted on Google Oliver BowlingTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Such a lovely stay. Really great area, just a couple minutes drive to Kilkhampton, or short walk, not long drive at all to Bude either. Such a lovely accommodation in the roundhouses, great for cooking in their with great selection given cooking utensils too. Eggs sold on site from the chickens, which gave us a great breakfast. Staff were really friendly to myself partner and myself. Warm luxurious hot tubs too! Lovely and accommodating with our dog too in their pet friendly roundhouse. We’d love to come again!Posted on Google bradley hartreyTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Very homely love it.Posted on Google Colin YarwoodTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We stayed in the secret roundhouse, which is fenced off for privacy, with a separate well equipped kitchen area and covered bbq, woodfired hot tub, firepit, outdoor seating and garden area. The roundhouse has underfloor heating which was much needed in November and also made it very cosy. We had a very peaceful and relaxing 4 night break. East thorne is very much worth a visit and highly recommended. A big thank you to Adam, Naomi, Sue and Paul for making us feel so welcome 🙂Posted on Google Holly XxxTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google.
